On Saturday, February 20th, several members of the Manchester Financial team attended the 24th Annual Community Conscience Mardi Gras Ball. While they dined and danced, they did so with a purpose. As Gold Sponsors of the event, Manchester Financial helped to provide basic relief to people in need in our community.

Community Conscience was founded in the early 1980s to ensure that public assistance and welfare programs are available and accessible to those in the Conejo Valley. After years of planning and fundraising, Community Conscience was able to open the Under One Roof Human Services Center in 1988. Approximately 13 social services agencies keep rent-free offices at the 17,500 square foot building. Some of these agencies provide youth employment training and counseling, hospice care and bereavement group support, counseling for the prevention and recovery from all types of abuse and neglect, and services to help homeless families and individuals transition out of poverty.

In 2007, Jacque Turner, a Community Conscience Board of Trustees member, introduced Robert Katch and the rest of the Manchester team to this highly-respected organization. Manchester has continued their involvement with fundraising for Community Conscience at the Mardi Gras Ball, and was pleased to commit to Gold Sponsor support in 2016. The money raised from the ball goes directly to pay the rent and operational utilities for all the agencies housed in the Under One Roof Human Services Center. Manchester Financial is honored to help those in need in our local community.
